In 2013 More than 2,000 people joined a campaign to erect a public statue of Wiley, widely considered the Godfather of Grime music, in London. Campaigners drafted a petition to the mayor of the borough of Tower Hamlets, asking the local government to place a monument of Wiley in Bow. The petition was rejected.
5 years on, and Wiley’s influence and outreach has grown ever more significant and his status in urban culture has been written into history. h.O.O.d society plan to instate the sculpture in Bow, the neighbourhood where the musician hails from.
